Suggestion: "Sticky Sisters" Combo Tree Expansion + Hive Synergy Overdrive
First off, amazing job on the honey combos — they’re already super creative and chaotic in the best way. But I think there’s potential to go even deeper with synergy-based evolutions as the battle gets stickier! Here’s the idea:
🌈 Honey Synergy Overload: Once you unlock all honey colors (Yellow > Green > Red > Blue > Purple) via the research tree, you gain access to a special “Hive Nexus” tech. This lets you start mixing different honey types into existing combos for ultimate variants.
Examples:
Purple Honey + Wrestler = Quantum Grappler: Teleports behind enemy lines and throws bees out of the map temporarily. Cooldown is extreme, but satisfying.
Blue Honey + Sprayer = Frost Blaster: Freezes enemies instead of damaging them. Slows down the whole battlefield, great for crowd control.
Red Honey + Crusher = Explosive Tank: Final death crush causes a huge AOE explosion, damaging allies and enemies alike.
🐝 2-Player Co-Op Special Units: In co-op mode, allow for combined units when two players choose complementary base bees (e.g., Player 1 has Wax, Player 2 has Stomp = co-op Crusher that both control).
🔥 Queen Frenzy Mode: Once you beat all Queen Stages and enter “Honey Fiasco”, unlock Bloating Mode Chaos Rounds, where enemies and allies alike start with bloated states and you must strategically burst bees to chain-react against swarms!
🧡 New Unit: “The Behembee” (Huge Fat Unit)
Description: The Behembee is a massive, honey-laden brute that inches forward at a microscopic pace, attacks once every 10 seconds, but instantly flattens any unit directly in front of her with a ground-quaking belly slam. She's hard to use... but impossible to stop.
Stats:
Speed: Atom-by-atom (basically stationary)
Attack: Instant kill to one enemy in front (no splash, no knockback — just deleted)
Cooldown: 10 seconds
HP: Requires 3 hits to kill, immune to knockback and stun
Weakness: Easy to swarm, poor against ranged, vulnerable to aerial units
Cost: Extremely high honey cost (maybe costs 1 of each honey color in late-game)
Honey Combos:
Behembee + Wax = Fortessbee
Gains passive armor regeneration. Becomes immune to one burst or bloating hit every 15 seconds.
Behembee + Stomp = Titanic Bellydropper
Slam causes small area quake that stuns nearby enemies briefly. Still moves slowly, still hits hard.
Behembee + Artillery = Bombardobee
Fires honey blobs forward every 15 seconds before attacking. Blob causes slow and stick.
Behembee + Guard = Hive Sentinel
Spawns two tiny helper bees that block for her. They die fast, but help protect her as she crawls
Final thought: add a unit diary with silly lore snippets for each combo (like "Charger’s sit attack was banned in 3 bee sports leagues") — adds charm and makes it collectible.
I come back to this game every so often, this time to speedrun hard-mode! I'd played a number of times to nail down my strategy, but would love to hear if there are better ones!
